GameversePG is an indoor entertainment facility on Victoria Street — escape rooms, grid games, axe throwing, and slime birthday parties. On a good Saturday we'll run a corporate team through the axe lanes, put twelve nine-year-olds through a slime party, and lock four adults in a room with a countdown clock. All at once.
We're looking for one person to run all of it.
This is a hands-on job. Read this part carefully.
You will host parties. You will coach axe throwers. You will reset escape rooms. And when a target block gets chewed to splinters or a prop stops working twenty minutes before a booking, you fix it yourself.
That means you're genuinely comfortable with:
- A miter saw, a circular saw, and an impact driver
- Cutting, mounting and maintaining axe throwing target boards
- Sharpening and inspecting axes and pulling unsafe ones out of service
- Troubleshooting low-voltage props, maglocks, sensors, LED panels and hint systems
- Basic carpentry, painting, minor plumbing and electrical
- Knowing the line where a job needs a licensed trade — and calling one
If "I'd call someone for that" is your instinct, this isn't your job. If you like fixing things and you're good with people, keep reading.
What you'll own
The guests. Every party, every group, every booking. You set the energy in the building and you handle the problems before they become reviews.
The safety. Axe throwing rules enforced without exception. Waivers signed before anyone touches a lane. Boards kept moist so axes bite instead of bouncing. Escape room emergency exits tested every single opening.
The building. Repairs, preventive maintenance, tools, consumables, contractors.
The team. Hiring, training, scheduling, coaching. Certifying every staff member on axe safety before they run a lane.
The numbers. Bookings in Resova, cash and card reconciliation, inventory, labour cost, timesheets.
What you need
- 2+ years supervising a customer-facing venue — entertainment, hospitality, retail or recreation
- Real, demonstrated hands-on repair and build ability (we will test this — see below)
- Standard First Aid + CPR-C, or willing to get it within 30 days
- Clear criminal record check including vulnerable sector — this role works with kids
- Availability evenings, weekends and holidays. This is a weekend business.
- Valid BC driver's licence and a reliable vehicle for supply runs
- Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and stay on your feet for a shift
Bonus points for: a trades background, WATL or IATF axe coach certification, or previous escape room / arcade / family entertainment experience.
Our hiring process

- Interview.
- Paid two-hour working trial. We'll hand you tools and a target board, give you a dead prop to diagnose, and have you run a safety briefing. We'd rather see you work than talk about working.
