We're a long-established Stellantis dealership in the heart of Ottawa, and we're looking for a sharp, detail-driven accounting professional to join our back office. This isn't a dead-end clerk role — we're hiring with the intention of developing the right person into an Assistant Controller as they grow with us. If you want a seat where your work is seen, your skills compound, and there's a real path upward, this is it.
You'll own a broad slice of dealership accounting from day one: reconciliations, deal processing, payroll support, and month-end. Strong performers will take on progressively more responsibility for financial reporting and controls over time.
What You'll Do
Accounting & Reconciliations
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Complete schedule reconciliations and keep all accounts accurate and balanced
- Reconcile manufacturer statements and resolve outstanding items
- Prepare and reconcile Visa and petty cash accounts
- Process warranty remittances and warranty schedule adjustments; confirm warranty costs are entered correctly
- Reconcile OMVIC accounts and ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting
Vehicle Inventory & Deal Processing
- Process and verify deal closings — new, used, wholesale, and dealer trade
- Manage new and used vehicle stock-ins and maintain accurate inventory records
- Reconcile floor plan and chattel accounts, including month-end
- Coordinate funding and payouts for all vehicle transactions
- Ensure all vehicle-related entries are accurate and timely
Accounts Receivable
- Monitor and maintain AR balances; follow up on outstanding items
- Support cash flow management through accurate, timely record keeping
Payroll & Commissions
- Process and assist with payroll administration in line with company policy and employment standards
- Reconcile and balance Sales commissions and Finance & Insurance (F&I) commissions
Operational Support
- Assist with daily deposits and vehicle licensing when required
- Support internal controls and accounting procedures
- Collaborate with department managers to resolve accounting and operational issues
What We're Looking For
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience — automotive dealership accounting strongly preferred
- Knowledge of dealership accounting systems and manufacturer reporting
- Solid grasp of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial controls
- Experience with payroll processing and accounts receivable
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills
- Familiarity with CDK, PBS, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar DMS is an asset
You are: exceptionally detail-oriented, analytical, organized under deadline pressure, a clear communicator, discreet with confidential information, and self-motivated — equally comfortable working independently or with the team.
