Bookkeeping & Inventory Specialist (Bar & Liquor Industry)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeping & Inventory Specialist to support our operations in the bar and liquor industry. This role combines financial management with inventory control to ensure accurate records, efficient processes, and strong cost oversight. Your work will directly contribute to profitability, compliance, and overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Track and control liquor, beer, and wine inventory, including cycle counts, adjustments, and audits
- Monitor pour costs, shrinkage, and inventory variances to identify and reduce losses
- Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, providing actionable insights
- Support payroll processing and assist with tax compliance requirements
- Assist with budgeting and cost analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Maintain accurate documentation for all financial transactions and inventory activity
- Collaborate with management to improve efficiency, cost controls, and profitability
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping within bars, restaurants, or liquor-based businesses
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and POS system integrations
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, including reconciliations and financial reporting
- Experience with payroll support and basic tax compliance
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
