Overview
We are seeking a passionate and flexible Part-Time Dance Instructor for occasional substitute teaching at our dance studio. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and have a background in dance, tutoring, or early childhood education. The position offers an opportunity to inspire young dancers, contribute to a positive learning environment, and support our studio’s ongoing programs. The instructor will be called upon as needed to lead classes, ensuring continuity of instruction and maintaining a fun, engaging atmosphere for students.
Responsibilities
- Lead dance classes for children and youth, following established curriculum and lesson plans
- Create a welcoming and encouraging environment that fosters student growth and confidence
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different age groups and skill levels
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure safety during all activities
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and studio staff regarding class progress and any concerns
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up dance spaces before and after classes
- Support studio events or special programs as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or recreational settings
- Background in dance, tutoring, or early childhood education preferred
- Ability to engage young learners through creative teaching techniques
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Reliable availability for substitute teaching on short notice
- Experience with classroom management or similar environments is a plus
- Passion for dance and working with children to promote their development and enjoyment of the arts
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
