We’re Looking for a Flat Roofing Foreman
We are seeking an experienced Flat Roofing Foreman to join our growing team based out of our Nelson office in British Columbia. Reporting directly to the Operations Lead, the Flat Roofing Foreman is responsible for leading roofing crews, coordinating daily site activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in commercial flat roofing systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and supervise crews on a flat roofing project.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily work activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Assign tasks, monitor crew performance, and provide coaching and mentorship to apprentices and junior team members.
- Perform and oversee the installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of commercial flat roofing systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders to ensure accurate project execution.
- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain efficient workflow on site.
- Conduct roof inspections and ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications to maintain warranty requirements.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards, building codes, and company expectations are met.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues while communicating project progress, challenges, and recommendations to the Operations Lead or Project Manager.
- Complete and submit accurate daily reports, including labour hours, material usage, site inspections, and other required documentation.
- Enforce company health and safety policies and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and all applicable safety standards.
- Represent the company professionally while maintaining positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow team members.
- Perform all other duties as operational needs dictate.
What You Bring to the Role
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial flat roofing.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems (SBS, TPO, EPDM, BUR, gravel roofing other forms of low-slope roofing systems).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specs.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Valid driver's licence (required).
- Reliable, organized, and solutions-oriented.
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
