Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef & Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. This role involves crafting beautiful and delicious cakes, pastries, and desserts that delight our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, exceptional cake decorating skills, and experience working in a fast-paced food environment. Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes with intricate designs, fondant, icing, and other decorative elements to meet customer specifications
- Ensure all baked goods are visually appealing and meet quality standards
- Handle food preparation tasks including mixing, measuring, and assembling ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Package baked goods securely for display or delivery
- Assist customers with product selections and answer questions about ingredients or customization options
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and service during busy periods
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating and pastry arts, preferably within a restaurant or bakery environment
- Strong skills in food preparation, baking, and culinary techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with food packaging for retail or catering purposes is a plus
- Kitchen experience in the food industry is highly desirable
- Creativity and an eye for design are essential for decorating cakes professionally
- Food handling certification or training is preferred but not mandatory
