Mechlines Contractors Ltd. is a growing mechanical contractor specializing in commercial and institutional construction projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
We are looking for an experienced Plumbing and Hydronic Heating Installer who is comfortable working on complete plumbing and heating installations, from underground rough-ins through above-ground piping and fixture installation.
Responsibilities
- Install underground sanitary, storm and domestic water piping
- Complete above-ground drainage, venting and domestic water installations
- Install plumbing fixtures, carriers, cleanouts, floor drains, valves and related equipment
- Install hydronic heating piping, pumps, valves, expansion tanks, unit heaters and other heating equipment
- Work with various piping materials, including:
- PVC and CPVC
- Cast iron
- Copper
- PEX
- Steel and threaded pipe
- Cut, measure, lay out and assemble piping systems
- Perform soldering, threading, grooving, pressing and solvent-welding
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and shop drawings
- Install pipe supports, hangers and sleeves
- Coordinate installations with other trades and site supervision
- Identify installation conflicts and report them to the project supervisor
- Complete pressure tests and assist with system commissioning
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complete installations in accordance with applicable codes, drawings and specifications
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence is required
- 306A Plumbing licence is preferred
- Experienced registered plumbing apprentices are encouraged to apply
- Commercial or institutional plumbing experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with both underground and above-ground plumbing is required
- Hydronic heating and mechanical-room piping experience is strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable working with PVC, cast iron, copper and steel piping
- Must be experienced with soldering and pipe threading
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, punctual and committed to quality workmanship
- Must follow all company and site health-and-safety requirements
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
A G2 or G1 gas licence would be considered an asset but is not required.
