Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 1 Driver (Experience 3 years) to join our logistics team immediately. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to operate various types of vehicles and equipment, especially flat deck truck and flat deck trailers.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks to transport freight to designated locations. Mainly Edmonton and area.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving on highways and local roads.
- Assist in the maintenance of the truck, performing basic automotive repairs as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in flat deck load securement and driving with a valid commercial class 1 driver's license .
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Basic automotive repair skills to address minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
