Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Rehabilitation Worker to support individuals in their daily living needs. This role involves providing personalized care in a home-like environment, promoting independence, and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or dementia.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and safety protocols
- Support residents with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition intake
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Assist with activities that promote independence and social engagement
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to supervisory staff
- Support residents with specialized needs related to dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Follow care plans and document care provided accurately and timely
Requirements
- Diploma or certificate in Human Services, Disability Support, Continuing Care, Social Services, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia care is highly desirable
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks effectively
- Compassionate attitude towards seniors and individuals requiring special assistance
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a supportive environment
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing high-quality care
- Casual staff provide coverage for vacations, sick leave, and other operational needs and must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
