Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery and industrial equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on ensuring optimal equipment performance and safety. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices, schematics, and low voltage systems, with experience in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS, HVAC, welding, and electrical work. Excellent analysis skills and customer service orientation are essential to effectively support operations and collaborate with team members.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty machinery and industrial equipment to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules and manufacturer specifications.
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and control system diagrams to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
- Conduct welding, HVAC servicing, and low voltage electrical repairs as needed.
- Operate and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize machinery performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS software.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations; identify potential hazards proactively.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and production teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or heavy-duty mechanical repair within manufacturing settings.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, electrical systems (including low voltage), and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS systems, HVAC units, welding equipment, boilers, and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Electrical experience with a focus on industrial applications is highly desirable.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex machinery issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong communication skills in English for clear documentation and teamwork collaboration.
- Relevant certifications or training in industrial electrician work or mechanical maintenance preferred.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay: $25.00-$53.00 per hour
