Clario, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is a global leader in clinical trial endpoint technology. We are seeking an Innovation Manager to help shape the future of Clario’s AI-enabled and data-driven solutions within regulated healthcare and clinical trial environments.
This role sits at the intersection of medical imaging, clinical trial workflows, AI innovation, and product strategy. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of imaging in clinical research and/or drug development, combined with the ability to identify innovation opportunities that create measurable value for sponsors, readers, and internal operations.
You will work closely with Medical, AI/ML, Product, and Engineering teams to identify unmet needs, explore AI-enabled solutions, and define innovation initiatives that improve clinical workflows, image interpretation processes, data quality, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
Partner closely with Medical, Product, AI/ML, and Engineering teams to identify innovation opportunities across Clario’s clinical trial and medical imaging ecosystem. A key part of the role is developing a deep understanding of imaging workflows, clinical trial operations, and reader and sponsor pain points in order to uncover opportunities for meaningful AI-enabled improvements and operational efficiencies.
You will lead discovery and concept development activities, translating unmet needs into clear problem statements, opportunity assessments, high-level solution concepts, and experiment or MVP proposals. The role also involves evaluating emerging technologies such as machine learning, generative AI, computer vision, and workflow automation, with a focus on practical and safe application within regulated healthcare environments.
Working closely with Medical and Imaging experts, you will ensure proposed solutions align with real-world clinical workflows and provide measurable value to customers and operational teams. You will partner with AI/ML and data science teams to understand current capabilities and limitations, brainstorm new AI-enabled features and services, and evaluate where AI can responsibly and effectively enhance existing and future products.
You will help define and maintain an innovation roadmap prioritizing initiatives based on clinical value, business impact, operational efficiency, technical feasibility, and strategic alignment. This role also includes facilitating discovery sessions and cross-functional workshops involving Medical, AI, Product, Engineering, and Commercial stakeholders.
For high-potential opportunities, you will define experiment and MVP charters that outline customer problems, assumptions, success metrics, risks, dependencies, and validation criteria. You will work closely with Product Owners to ensure innovation concepts are translated into actionable backlogs and delivery plans while maintaining alignment with the original business and clinical objectives.
You will analyze results from experiments, prototypes, and customer feedback to recommend whether initiatives should scale, pivot, or stop. In addition, you will prepare concise business cases and recommendations for leadership, clearly articulating opportunity size, operational and clinical impact, risks, and proposed next steps.
