Job Overview
We are seeking a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) to provide virtual counselling services. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping clients process trauma, navigate life transitions, and build resilience. As an independent contractor, the position offers flexibility, allowing you to set your own schedule while benefiting from an established clinic framework and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Provide virtual counselling sessions to individuals (ages 12+)
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to client needs
- Provide trauma-focused care, including EMDR therapy where clinically appropriate
- Maintain client confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with professional regulations
- Complete session notes and documentation in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the clinic to ensure seamless client care
- Engage in occasional team meetings and professional development opportunities
Skills & Competencies
- Training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is required
- Clinical skills in trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, or other evidence-based modalities
- Excellent active listening and communication skills
- Ability to build strong rapport and create a safe, non-judgmental space for clients
- Strong organizational and time management skills for managing client caseload
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a virtual setting
- Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of intersectionality in mental health
- Comfort with technology and online practice management systems such as Jane.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology
- Must be registered with BCACC (RCC) or CCPA (CCC)
- Experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, or life transitions
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Liability insurance required

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $108.50 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 15.0 per week
