Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cook to oversee daily operations within our food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid background in the food industry, including serving, food preparation, and kitchen management. This role involves ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service to our customers. The Lead cook will play a vital role in coordinating meal preparation, managing food handling procedures, and upholding the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards and consistency
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Assist in meal preparation during busy periods or special events as needed
- Train new team members on service protocols, food safety, and kitchen operations
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to prevent shortages
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Support the management team in implementing operational policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant operations, or related roles with a focus on cooking, food handling, and meal preparation
- Strong knowledge of the food industry standards, including food safety regulations
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership position within a restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred
- Excellent serving skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation techniques, and restaurant best practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a team effectively
- Food industry experience with an emphasis on maintaining high standards of quality and safety
