Maple Leaf TV is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Play-by-Play Commentator to provide live game coverage throughout the baseball season. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about baseball, sports media, and engaging fans through entertaining and professional broadcasts.
Maple Leaf TV provides broadcast coverage for:
- PBA
- Lethbridge Bulls
- Lethbridge Longhorns
- Little League
- American Legion
Position Type
Seasonal / Part-Time
Compensation: Paid per game
Responsibilities
- Deliver live play-by-play commentary for baseball broadcasts covered by Maple Leaf TV
- Provide engaging analysis, player stories, and in-game insights
- Work closely with media staff, producers, and game operations personnel
- Promote a professional and entertaining broadcast experience for fans
- Conduct player or coach interviews
- Assist with pregame and postgame coverage when applicable
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of baseball rules, strategy, and terminology
- Excellent verbal communication and storytelling skills
- Comfortable speaking live on-air for extended periods
- Previous broadcasting, podcasting, sports media, or commentary experience is considered an asset
- Ability to work tournaments, evenings, and weekends during the baseball season
- Reliable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with live streaming, radio, or sports broadcasting
- Familiarity with Prairie Baseball Academy (PBA), the Western Canadian Baseball League, and amateur baseball in Southern Alberta
Compensation
- Paid on a per-game basis
