Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mobile Crane Technician/Mechanic to join our maintenance team.
The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic truck cranes, all-terrain cranes and rough terrain cranes.
This role requires a strong technical background in crane systems, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment repair.
Experience with Liebherr, Grove, Link-Belt, Tadano or Manitowoc cranes is considered a significant asset.
Candidates must possess their own professional-grade mechanic’s tools and be capable of performing both shop and field service repairs.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in maximizing fleet uptime while ensuring the equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant with applicable codes and regulations..
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile cranes, tractors and trailers.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical systems using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Perform crane inspections, preventative maintenance and annual service requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams and OEM service manuals.
- Collaborate with operations staff to schedule repairs with minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Qualifications
- 310T Truck and Coach Technician Licence preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience repairing mobile cranes.
- Strong knowledge of crane mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, diesel engines.
- Experience with Liebherr, Grove, Link-Belt, Tadano, Manitowoc, or similar crane manufacturers.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining safety standards.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy parts and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and diagnostic tools usage are advantageous.
- Welding and fabrication experience considered an asset.
