Position Summary
The Geologist supports subsurface studies through geological interpretation, core and log analysis, and 3D modeling. This role contributes to drilling, development, and production decisions.
Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to)
1. Subsurface Data Analysis: Interpret and analyze well logs, lithology, structure, and alteration features
2. Core Logging, Sampling & QA/QC: Manage QA/QC, sampling, and data collection procedures, ensure proper sample documentation and data integrity
3. Geological Modeling & Interpretation: Integrate mapping, drilling, and field observations; develop and refine 3D geological models
4. Drilling Program Planning & Support: Assist in planning and managing drill programs, coordinate with on-site operators and field staff
5. Reporting & Communication: Generate weekly geological summaries, prepare technical reports, and communicate geological and subsurface conditions to engineers and field staff
Qualifications
- University degree in Geology, Petroleum Geology, Earth sciences, Geophysics, or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with GeoScout, AccuMap, Petrel, Kingdom, ArcGIS/QGIS, or similar subsurface interpretation software
- Fluent in English and Chinese
Compensation: We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure, and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $3500 to $5000 CAD per month.
