Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of sales techniques, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service. This role involves engaging with customers, demonstrating products, and driving sales through effective upselling and merchandising strategies. The Sales Associate will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring customers find the products and services they need. Able to work flexible hours and be available for call ins if needed, and more hours during busy season.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in picking products or services
- Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to enhance customer understanding
- Engage in retail sales activities, including upselling and cross-selling merchandise
- Operate POS systems accurately for transactions, cash handling, and receipts
- Manage merchandising displays to attract customer attention and promote featured products
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive shopping experience
- Maintain organized stock areas and ensure shelves are stocked appropriately
- Handle cashiering duties with professionalism, including processing payments via cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments
- Use effective phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online channels
- Support team members in achieving sales goals through collaboration and communication
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills for transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently and professionally
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage time efficiently during busy periods
- Knowledge of merchandising principles, product demos, and upselling techniques is advantageous
- Ability to work well in a team environment or alone while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
Pay: $16.00 per hour
