Our client, a well-established industrial contractor in Port Coquitlam, BC, is seeking a Junior Project Manager to join their growing Pulp & Paper division. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Coordinator or Junior Project Manager looking to take the next step in their career while working on maintenance, shutdown, and capital projects at pulp mills throughout British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the successful delivery of industrial construction projects from planning through completion.
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, materials, and documentation to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Prepare proposals, change orders, project reports, and project closeout documentation.
- Act as a key liaison between clients, field Superintendents, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Attend site meetings, monitor project progress, and assist with resolving project challenges.
- Support project cost tracking, forecasting, and overall project controls.
- Travel to project sites throughout British Columbia (approximately 30% of the time) to support field operations and maintain strong client relationships.
- Uphold Health, Safety & Environmental standards across all project activities.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in project coordination or project management within industrial, mechanical, or construction environments.
- Experience working on industrial projects such as pulp & paper, mining, refineries, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, change orders, scheduling, and project controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with experience using project management or ERP software considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, field personnel, and subcontractors.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel throughout British Columbia to support project execution.
