We are seeking a dynamic Support Services Manager to lead our support services team and enhance the overall quality of life for our residents.
Position Overview: This a combination of Cook and Support Services Manager you will oversee the daily operations of support services within our long-term care home. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating services that enhance resident care and facility efficiency.
Responsibilities as a Manager:
- Supervise and lead the support services team, including cooks, dietary, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and facility policies.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve service delivery and resident satisfaction.
- Manage budgets and resources for support services, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Collaborate with nursing and care teams to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
- Conduct training and development programs for support services staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and excellence.
Responsibilities as a Cook
- Prepare and cook meals according to the facility’s menu and dietary plans.
- Ensure meals meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of special meals and events.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Support special dietary requests, including those for residents with allergies, diabetes, or other health-related conditions.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized culinary program or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Food Safe certificate
- Previous experience in a management role within food service, healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in long-term care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Pay: $35.00-$38.00 per hour
