Job Description – Regional Manager of Operations
Ontario West Retirement Residences
The Regional Manager of Operations supports the organizations retirement homes primarily in Western Ontario both on site and remotely. The Regional Manager of Operations can support homes in a variety of roles and must be capable of managing a retirement home in the absence of the General Manager.
The Regional Manager of Operations,
Corporate Team:
- The Regional Manager of Operations is part of a dynamic corporate team and contributes to the vision for each individual home;
- May be assigned to a home to address workplan items;
- Implements and monitors the initiatives of the corporate team.
Staff:
- Reports to the Corporate Director of Operations and will be required to manage staff in co-ordination with a General Manager or independently;
- Contributes to, implements, monitors, reports on and recommends changes to the Master Schedules;
- Contributes to the development of job descriptions and job routines;
- Carries out evaluations of job performances, implements corrective measures;
- Is able to contribute to the Health and Safety Committees and ensures their effective operation;
- Is knowledgeable in; Food and Beverage, Administration, Resident Care, Recreation, Environmental Services and Marketing;
- Functions as part of the dynamic management team in all aspects of human resource management
Buildings and Property:
- Holds responsibility for the maintenance of the property and buildings whether directly, through delegation to staff or through the use of approved contracts.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies
Administration:
- Ensures that staff and resident files are compliant within the required timeframe
- Monitors the purchases of all departments
Sales and Marketing:
- Develops marketing plans and assumes responsibility for occupancy
- Supports the General Managers in all aspects of Sales and Marketing
- Supports community outreach
General:
- Contributes to the effective resolution of resident complaints
- Other duties as agreed upon from time to time.
Requirements:
- Previous management experience in a retirement home setting
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with the legislative requirements of all regulatory bodies
- Available to be move between retirement homes and stay on site as necessary
- Strong teambuilding abilities
