- Order materials and supplies required for each project.
- Verify purchase orders, delivery schedules, and invoice accuracy.
- Track materials allocated to specific projects and maintain accurate records.
- Compare material pricing regularly and source competitive suppliers to maximize value.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal project managers.
- Schedule and coordinate material deliveries to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks.
- Follow up on backordered or delayed materials and communicate updates to project teams.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in purchasing and logistics.
- Ensure all materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate material tracking using company software and spreadsheets.
- Prepare regular reports on material costs, usage, inventory, and supplier performance.
- Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and material handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or construction materials coordination is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with construction management or inventory software is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of residential and commercial construction materials is preferred.
