Serkka Farms Inc is a multi-generational family farm seeking to hire a full-time maintenance shop manager.
Full time position in a modern Farm Maintenance Shop
Job responsibilities will include :
-manage a group of 3-5 full time and seasonal employees
-equipment maintenance on all types of Farm and Highway truck/trailer equipment.
- routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on John Deere and various farm equipment (Tractors, Planters, Irrigation, Harvesters, Sprayers, etc)
- maintain Highway trucks and trailers and prepare for annual safety inspection stickers
- Some diesel engine and passenger vehicle repair and maintenance
- Some minor hydraulic and electrical repair
- position involves working in a team setting in a modern shop
- record keeping (some computer knowledge needed)
- order parts and keep track of paper work
- previous experience or managerial positions an asset
-strong time management and organizational abilities
- delegating, self management and team work necessary
-ability to work in a fast paced environment with flexibility to pivot to emergency repairs
-safety conscious and follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
-ability to identify operational issues, investigate root causes, and implement effective corrective actions
-strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take corrective action and prevent recurring issues
-demonstrate capacity to monitor employee performance, spot discrepencies, and provide timely corrective measures
- valid G drivers license needed
Post Secondary education in any mechanical (automotive or otherwise) or agricultural fields and A/Z Drivers license an asset.
Wage and hours of work are negotiable and dependent on experience in the field.
