Job Summary
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our Carpentry Apprenticeship program. This hands-on training opportunity is designed for those interested in developing their skills in carpentry and construction. Apprentices will work alongside experienced professionals on diverse projects, gaining practical experience in various aspects of carpentry, woodworking, and general construction. This paid apprenticeship offers a comprehensive pathway to a rewarding career in the construction industry, emphasizing safety, craftsmanship, and technical expertise.
Duties
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to support project planning and execution
- Participate in concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work to develop foundational skills
- Support cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, siding, roofing, and siding projects under supervision
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for various tasks including framing, finishing, and assembly
- Contribute to construction painting, caulking, and restoration projects to enhance building durability and aesthetics
- Aid in the installation of plumbing and electrical systems as part of integrated construction tasks
- Support heavy lifting activities and material handling to ensure efficient workflow
- Assist with construction estimating tasks by gathering measurements and preparing basic cost assessments
- Follow safety protocols consistently to maintain a secure work environment
Qualifications
- Strong interest in carpentry, woodworking, or construction trades with a desire to learn and grow professionally
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, or construction estimating is a plus
- Experience or coursework related to masonry, roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, or cabinetry is advantageous
- Handyman experience or electrical/plumbing background can be beneficial but not mandatory
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights safely
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to commit to a structured apprenticeship schedule
