The successful candidate will assist with various value-added maintenance tasks and projects. Your ability to apply your technical reasoning and practical skills in a do-what-it-takes team environment will be rewarded.
Responsibilities:
- Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, fans, and generators.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems specific to plastic foam extruders and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation and repair.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine work procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and minimal production disruptions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Education
- Experience with Plastic Foam Extrudes and related packaging equipment
- Mechanical Degree/Diploma would be an asset
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) experience would be preferred
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment
- Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, a self-starter who can multi-task and change priorities
- A valid class G driver’s license
- Good computer literacy
- Excellent numeracy skills.
