Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing baked goods, including mixing, shaping, and decorating cakes and pastries with precision and flair
- Support the bakery team in food handling, ensuring all products meet safety and quality standards
- Decorate cakes and desserts using various techniques such as icing, piping, and fondant to meet customer specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace, following food safety protocols at all times
- Package baked items carefully for retail display or customer takeout to ensure freshness and presentation
- Provide friendly customer service by answering questions about products, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness throughout shifts
Skills
- Proven experience in cake decorating or food preparation within a bakery or restaurant setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, cooking methods, and food handling procedures in the food industry
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper packaging practices to ensure product quality and hygiene
- Kitchen experience that includes food safety certifications or training is advantageous
