Campus/Location: University of Guelph-Humber - 207 Humber College Blvd. (North Campus).
Salary: Payband I; Salary Range: $40.39 - $46.64; Starting Salary: $40.39
Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.
About the International Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator Role:
The International Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the University of Guelph-Humber meets its international enrolment and revenue targets established by the Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM)- Executive by assisting in the development, implementation and executing of recruitment and admissions strategies in order to generate a strong pool of registered students. The incumbent provides information and communicates with prospective students, applicants, guidance counsellors, agents, Canadian Immigration, parents, faculty and college administrators regarding a broad range of admissions related question/topics. The International Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator will be responsible for adjudicating international semester one applications, transfer students, inclusive of exchange students. These activities require approximately four- six weeks of overseas travel throughout the year.
What you bring to the role:
Education:
The successful candidate will have completed a four-year degree. A focus in Business, Public Administration or Communications would be considered an asset.
Experience and Skills:
Minimum of 3 – 5 years of work experience in international student recruitment, admissions, student services etc. and market development experience is preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with international students, including an understanding of other cultures and the ability to communicate in a cross-cultural working environment.
Understanding of the education systems domestically and internationally.
Ability to evaluate and verify international transcripts and academic credentials for compliance with university standards.
Demonstrated experience in persuading, informing, and influencing complex decisions.
Exhibits a consistently high level of maturity, professionalism, and credibility to act as the University of Guelph-Humber’s face-to-face spokesperson with all audiences.
Outstanding public/promotional/persuasive speaking and presentation skills including presentations to large and small audiences.
Experience in developing and delivering online and in-person events is an asset.
Experience in independent/self-directed international travel.
Must exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to build strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, showing confidence communicating with individuals from different cultures.
Demonstrate technical skills in: Microsoft Office (word, excel, access, PowerPoint); Proficient in Colleague, SLATE student information systems.
Use CRM systems to track applications, analyze recruitment trends, and report on the effectiveness of strategies
Demonstrated understanding of Canadian Requirements for study and work permits.
Demonstrated excelled customer services in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
Strong problem solving, conflicts resolution, time management, judgement and demonstrated professionalism.
A valid passport is required.
Incumbent will be required to work non-standard hours
