Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Development, the incumbent must provide support to the entire development and communications operations. This includes planning, development, implementation, and management of corporate gifts, annual sponsorships, government grants, as well as public relations with mainstream media, government agencies, community agencies, and more.
Main Duties
- Assist in the development and implementation of all proposals for sponsors, donors, and media;
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and communication plans;
- Provide functional expertise and dedicated support to Resource Development, Marketing and Communications, and Event Management teams;
- Use best practices to interpret research and draft proposals for grants and other projects;
- Conduct and gather market research and studies to enhance current communication plans;
- Liaise with designated corporations to coordinate structure and fulfillment of sponsorship recognition benefits;
- Establish and sustain strong relationships with key community-based constituents, government agencies, and media contacts;
- Plan, develop, and implement public relation strategies;
- Prioritize project requests and manage internal stakeholder expectations;
- Lead special projects and other assignments that might be assigned from time to time;
- Oversee Development and Communications operations in the absence of the Director, Marketing and Development.
Qualifications
- University degree or College diploma in Fundraising or Marketing, Business Management;
- Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation preferred;
- Member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) preferred;
- Minimum of 5 years related supervisory experience;
- Solid management skills and a strategic attitude towards fundraising and event management;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask;
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in both English and Chinese.
