Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Duties
- Safely operate trucks to transport freight to designated locations including logs, equipment, scrap metal etc.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all local, provincial, and federal regulations regarding transportation and safety.
- Perform basic maintenance on vehicles as needed, including checking fluid levels, greasing, minor repairs.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Experience with off-road hauling.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and regulations.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair for minor vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
- Ability to perform physical work.
