Position Title: Credit Manager, Syndicated Loans
Location: Toronto Branch
Language Requirement: Fluent in both English and Mandarin
Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month contract (renewable)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (including 1-hour lunch break)
Salary:From CA$70,000.00 per year (adjusted based on experience and qualifications).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the full loan process from initiation to closing.
2. Evaluate loan applications and related documentation, and inform applicants to provide supplementary materials as required by Head Office.
3. Conduct due diligence for prospective transactions, including KYC, loan documentation review, and financial statement analysis.
4. Perform financial analysis and risk assessment where applicable.
5. Interpret findings and prepare written/oral credit presentations and reports for approval, including Mandarin reports as required by Head Office.
6. Be mindful of the submission deadline. Submit loan applications to Head Office for recommendation and approval and in charge of the communication with the Head Office.
7. Prepare documentation for credit facility closings and complete loan-related reports.
8. Review and update loan credit reports or files regularly.
9. Review loan agreements and ensure compliance with all approved terms and conditions.
10. Monitor financial status of existing accounts and report any irregularities to management.
11. Maintain loan documentation and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
12. Execute loan account operations and ensure procedural compliance.
13. Maintain client relationships and monitor clients’ business performance and collateral.
14. Handle customer and branch inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
15. Support other operational tasks and perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications :
1. Post-secondary education with diploma/degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent
2. Working experience in the loan department of a financial institution, with solid knowledge of syndicated loan and commercial credit structures, and the ability to independently conduct credit analysis and assess corporate credit risk.
3. Ability to interpret financial statements (audited, operating, budgets and projections)
4. Interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
5. Fluency in English and Mandarin speaking and writing
6. Computer skills, e.g. Email and Microsoft Office
7. Multi-tasking and organizational skills
8. A team player
9. Familiarity with KYC, AML, and regulatory compliance standards
10. Applicants must hold Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) status or a valid Work Permit.
