A career as a Senior Financial Planning Advisor at National Bank Financial (NBF) means supporting clients and NBF Investment Advisors (IAs) in their financial planning needs by providing information and, most importantly, by preparing comprehensive financial plans.
The mission of the sector is to provide expertise and high-quality services in advanced financial planning, taxation, and estate planning.
Your job:
- Become a go-to resource for financial planning within the client advisory team at one of Canada’s largest asset management firms
· Conduct client interviews, build trust-based relationships, and prepare financial plans tailored to each high-net-worth client’s needs
· Collaborate effectively as a team player and maintain relationships with numerous internal and external stakeholders
· Manage multiple complex cases with tight deadlines in a constantly evolving environment
· Prepare and deliver training sessions on financial planning for Investment Advisors
· Identify and develop business opportunities across all services and products offered by National Bank Financial
· Understand business challenges and contribute to developing practical solutions
Your team:
Based in the Greater Montreal area, you will collaborate with your colleagues (financial planners, estate planners, and tax specialists) to support IAs and clients with financial planning across seven areas of expertise.
Prerequisites:
- Member of the Institut (Québécois) de planification financière
- 15 years of relevant experience
· University degree in a relevant field (e.g., accounting, actuarial science, finance, economics)
· In-depth knowledge of financial planning concepts, including personal and corporate taxation and pension plans
· Significant experience in an advisory or consulting role
· Ability to build strong professional relationships with a wide range of professionals (Investment Advisors, internal and external tax specialists, estate planners, etc.)
· Strong ability to explain complex concepts clearly
· Availability to travel to NBF offices in Great Montreal area
Assets:
· Experience in taxation or a master’s degree in taxation (or the CICA In-Depth Tax Course)
· Knowledge of insurance strategies
· Knowledge of the wealth management industry
· Member of Financial Planner Canada
