Senior Accountant
Hotel & Property Development Group
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated In-House Accountant to join our small group of companies operating in the hotel and property development industry. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining complete and accurate accounting records and supporting timely financial reporting across multiple entities. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle for multiple entities
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare and file GST and PST returns
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjusting entries
- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
- Ensure all reporting deadlines are met
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role in Canada
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the full accounting cycle
- Solid knowledge of accounting fundamentals including debits, credits, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Experience with payroll processing and indirect tax filings (GST/PST)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
