Position: Full Time Security Guard
Site Address: King Street West & Bay Street South, Hamilton
Overtime Method: Employment Standards Act – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Hours: Monday - Friday (0830-1630)
Payrate: $22.28/hr

Key responsibilities:

Monitor and patrol (foot and vehicle) the premises to ensure safety and security.

Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.

Control access at TA points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.

Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.

Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.

Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
-
Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.

Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.

Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.

Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures

Report incidents to appropriate personal as required

Liaise with other security staff on site

Liaise with bus drivers transporting TA workers
-
Utilize two-way radio for communicating site activities
-
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Ability to utilize security portable access readers
Requirements:
-
Valid G-Class driver’s license with last 3 years of clean driver’s abstract required

Valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid CPR C
-
Minimum one year of experience working in security

Proficient in English (both oral and written)

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Legally authorized to work in Canada
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
