The Job!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Auditor to join the Finance team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of client financial reporting across multiple properties and entities.
- Review monthly and annual client financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Analyze financial activity, reconciliations, variances, and supporting schedules to identify discrepancies and risks.
- Serve as the final quality review before financial reports are delivered to clients.
- Ensure consistency in financial reporting across multiple properties, portfolios, and client entities.
- Provide guidance on complex accounting matters and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with property managers, accountants, and external stakeholders to resolve financial issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and review processes.
- Monitor quality metrics and reporting performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior management regarding financial risks, trends, and compliance matters.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
What you bring to the job
You are someone with experience in financial statement review, auditing, or accounting quality assurance. You also come with:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or progress toward designation is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, including ASPE and IFRS.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Expected Compensation: CAD $80,000.00 per annum.
