Job Summary:
Working under the direction of the Director of Finance, the AP Clerk primary responsibility is the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable for Stoney Child & Family Services. Attention to detail in data entry and in maintaining financial records and supporting documentation is critical to ensure compliance with standard operating policies and procedures. Additional duties include responding to payment status inquiries, and liaising with staff in maintaining service and quality processing of financial accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Data entry for accounts payable of invoices
· Keep informed of SNCFS policy, including rates and ensure invoices are compliant and within policy
· AP requisitions entry and Payroll/cheque retrieval when alternate is not available or upon request
· Check invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness including proper signing authority
· Prepare and code accounts payable for cheque requisitions
· Assist in financial accounting and record keeping with team guidance
· Maintain accurate and orderly backup records
· Ensure copies of all transactions are maintained on file
· Work within a team environment
· Reliably attend work and communicate with the team
· Other duties as directed
Education, Skills & Qualifications:
· Accounting Diploma is an asset
· Minimum 1 year of experience in the accounting/finance field
· Excellent organization skills and detail oriented
· Strong written and verbal communication
· Ability to work with integrity and confidentiality
· Microsoft Office skills is considered an asset
· Knowledge of Xyntax Accounting System considered an asset.
· Ability to speak Stoney considered an asset
