The Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Refrigeration Helper to join our field team. You will work directly alongside a licensed 313A refrigeration mechanic, assisting with installations, service calls, and maintenance across commercial and industrial sites. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to build a long-term career in the refrigeration trade.
What You'll Do
- Assist the lead mechanic with installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems
- Carry and set up tools, equipment, and materials on job sites
- Support pipefitting, brazing, and equipment mounting tasks under supervision
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and Ontario regulations
- Load and unload equipment and supplies from the service vehicle
- Represent IB Technical professionally on client sites
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, or a related mechanical trade (an asset, not required)
- Willingness to learn and work hard in a physically demanding field environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions (rooftops, mechanical rooms, cold storage)
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence — a clean abstract is an asset
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-first attitude
- Basic hand and power tool knowledge is a must
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Compensation & Details
- Salary: $50,000 per year
- Full-time, Monday to Saturday (occasional overtime may be required)
- Field-based across Ontario
- Opportunity to grow within the company and develop your trade skills
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
