About the Role:
Cambridge Muslim Society is continuing its fitness initiative to support seniors in our community by promoting gentle movement, mobility, and strength-building. We are looking for an energetic and compassionate instructor to lead fitness sessions designed specifically for older adults with varying physical abilities.
As a Fitness Instructor, you will play a key role in enhancing the physical wellbeing and social connection of our seniors. Success in this role means creating a safe, welcoming environment and encouraging consistent participation through engaging and adaptable exercise routines.
Responsibilities:
- Lead 2 weekly group fitness sessions tailored to the needs of seniors.
- Create and adapt exercise routines to accommodate various mobility and physical ability levels.
- Promote gentle movement, flexibility, balance, and strength-building exercises.
- Foster an encouraging, inclusive, and supportive environment for participants.
- Provide individual support and modifications as needed during sessions.
- Collaborate with CMS staff to organize class schedules, materials, and track participant attendance and engagement.
- Monitor participant progress and adjust programs as needed to ensure safety and comfort.
Qualifications:
- Background in fitness instruction, kinesiology, physical education, or a related field (certification preferred).
- Experience leading group fitness classes, preferably with seniors or individuals with varying physical abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and motivational skills.
- Ability to create safe, accessible, and enjoyable workout experiences.
- Proficient in English; knowledge of Hindi/Urdu is a strong asset.
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00-$58.00 per hour
