We are currently seeking high-caliber, professional LPO / Tactical Guards to join our elite team at Sporting Life in Market Mall.
Job Summary:
We are hiring professional, high-presence Loss Prevention Officers for immediate backup placement. The ideal candidate must possess a strong visual floor presence, hold an advanced security skillset, and be completely confident handling retail theft apprehensions and trespass situations professionally.
Schedule:
* Weekdays: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
* Weekends: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain a highly visible, proactive tactical presence on the retail sales floor.
* Identify and deter internal and external theft, shoplifting, and fraudulent activity.
* Apprehend and detain suspects in strict accordance with provincial laws and tactical protocols.
* Handle store disturbances, trespassers, and unruly individuals safely and assertively.
* Prepare detailed, accurate incident and arrest reports for law enforcement.
* Collaborate directly with store management and local police.
Requirements:
* Valid Alberta Security License (Required).
* Active Tactical Training / Handcuff Certification (Must be legally certified to carry and use handcuffs) (Required).
* Proven experience in retail loss prevention (LPO) or hands-on tactical environments (Required).
* Strong Visual Presence: Must possess a commanding physical build (approximately 180+ lbs preferred by the client) to serve as an effective visual deterrent.
* Professional Image: Must be willing to provide a sharp, professional profile photo for client review and final site sign-off.
* Deep knowledge of the 5 Steps of Apprehension and Trespass policies.
* Strong communication, de-escalation, and situational awareness skills.
