Position Summary
This is an entry-level role for someone who wants to break into construction and prove it on the job. You’ll work under the direction of our site supervisors and senior carpenters, supporting the crew with site prep, cleanup, material handling, demolition support, and basic build tasks. As you demonstrate reliability and skill, we’ll progressively train you into more complex carpentry work — boarding, mudding, taping, tile prep, ceiling tile installs, finishing carpentry, and beyond. This is a real on-ramp into a long-term career at Palladio.
What You’ll Do
- Site setup, ongoing cleanup, end-of-shift breakdown, and material staging at customer worksites across the Calgary region
- Carry, load, unload, and stage building materials (drywall, lumber, ceiling tile, framing, finishings)
- Demolition support — removing fixtures, non-structural elements, and finishes under direction of the supervisor
- Basic prep work: scribing, measuring, cutting under supervision, marking out, prepping surfaces for finishers
- Ceiling tile install support, framing prep, drywall hanging support, and assisting carpenters and other trades with whatever the job calls for
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools (drills, sanders, circular saws, pressure washers, mixers) as trained
- Complete required hazard assessments (Field Level Hazard Assessment) before each task, attend daily toolbox talks, and follow site-specific safety plans
- Receive deliveries, verify materials against bills of lading, and return surplus materials to the Company yard or supplier
- Communicate site conditions, progress, hazards, schedule risks, and resource needs to the supervisor without delay
- Maintain Company-issued tools, equipment, and PPE in clean and good working order
- Any other duties consistent with the role as assigned by the supervisor or General Manager
