Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Grocery Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent service, maintaining store organization, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for shoppers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a positive attitude to support daily store operations effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with locating products, answering questions, and providing friendly service
- Restock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure an appealing shopping environment
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including aisles, displays, and checkout areas
- Perform merchandising tasks such as stocking new products and setting up promotional displays
- Use forklifts or other equipment as needed for inventory movement (training provided if necessary)
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks to ensure store equipment and facilities are in good condition
- Support inventory management through stock counts and organizing back-stock areas
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate daily tasks and store needs
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs
- Familiarity with merchandising, cashiering, cleaning, and basic maintenance tasks is advantageous
- Organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain store appearance
- Ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment (training provided)
- Excellent communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
