Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Moldmaker for a direct hire position to join our client's manufacturing team in Oldcastle. This opportunity is being offered at an excellent, reputable mold shop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision molds used in production processes. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD/CAM software, and hands-on experience with machining and assembly. The Moldmaker will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the manufacturing operations through expert mold construction and repair.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop molds using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CAD programs.
- Fabricate molds by machining, welding, hand tool work, and assembly to meet specifications.
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate mold construction.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on existing molds to optimize performance.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain detailed documentation of mold designs, modifications, and repairs.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure molds meet quality standards and production timelines.
- Follow safety protocols during all machining, welding, and assembly activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or machining environments with a focus on moldmaking or tooling fabrication.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including the use of hand tools, welding techniques, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and mathematical concepts relevant to machining precision parts.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately for complex mold fabrication tasks.
- Prior experience working with calipers, measuring instruments, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues is preferred.
