Job Description
We are currently looking for a mechanical drafter to join our growing team! Ideally, you have experience designing industrial mechanical equipment utilizing Solidworks. In this role, you will be responsible for independently drafting custom industrial machinery in collaboration with our engineering team. The main attributes of the position are as follows:
- Pay: CA$25.00-CA$38.00 (commensurate with experience)
- Fulltime position 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday),
- In-office position (no provisions for remote work)

Prerequisites
- Minimum 2 or 3-year diploma in a Mechanical Engineering Technology program from a recognized Canadian college. Civil and Structural graduates with Solidworks experience are welcome to apply.
- Minimum of 1 to 5 years’ experience in design of mechanical equipment or industrial equipment.
- This role is intended for drafters only. Professional engineers (P.Eng.) and engineers-in-training (EIT) are not being sought for this position.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada at the time of application. This position does not offer immigration or work‑permit sponsorship.
- Possession of valid passport.
- Fluent in English.
- Possession of valid G-license.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Is fluent in SolidWorks with knowledge of SolidWorks weldments, assemblies and PDM.
- Is fluent in AutoCAD.
- Is competent with the drafting of industrial machinery.
- Has working knowledge of commercially available industrial materials and components.
- Is proficient in the preparation of manufacturing drawings.
- Is proficient in the application of GD&T on manufacturing drawings.
- Is proficient in the application of practical machine component fits.
- Is proficient with the design of weldments.
- Experience in machine assembly or servicing is an asset
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an asset.

Ionic Mechatronics specializes in engineering of custom machinery, including robotics, electronics, networking, computing, hydraulics, design, and automation. Ionic is heavily involved industrial automation systems, new products development as well as underground mining chutes and mobile tools for mines.
