Parts & Service Technician
Job Summary
Smith Tank & Trailer Repair Ltd. is hiring a reliable and organized Parts & Service Technician for parts sourcing, inventory, purchasing, customer communication, and service administration in our repair shop. This position works closely with technicians, vendors, and customers to keep parts, records, and service activity organized and moving efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in parts sourcing and organization, preferably you will have experience working in the commercial transport industry or be very familiar with tank and trailer parts. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, being able to multi-task and a strong knowledge of parts and inventory management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Accurately identify and locate parts for repairs and maintenance, placing orders as needed.
· Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs.
· Receive and verify incoming parts shipments, maintaining organized inventory storage.
· Assist customers with parts inquiries, providing information on availability, pricing, and ordering processes.
· Develop a strong understanding of tank and trailer components to effectively identify parts.
· Maintain an organized parts inventory, ensuring that stock levels are adequate and up to date.
· Maintain accurate records of parts transactions and inventory levels, tracking usage trends and informing purchasing decisions.
· Handle returns and exchanges.
· Stay informed about new products, promotions, and industry trends to effectively assist customers.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a repair environment is preferred.
Product/Part knowledge for commercial vehicles
· Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of parts and components, with the ability to accurately identify and cross reference part numbers.
· Computer proficiency in software applications for parts inventory management – we use Fullbay software
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing inventory.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
