The YMCA of Saskatoon is seeking a Part-Time Permanent BASC Coordinator to support the delivery of high-quality Before and After School Care programming across all school sites.
The Role of the BASC Coordinator is to:

Coordinate and oversee the delivery of high-quality BASC programming across all school sites, ensuring alignment with YMCA objectives, standards, and a commitment to excellence.

Champion and model the YMCA’s vision, mission, and values while promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and inclusion across all programs.

Provide coaching, accountability, and operational support to BASC Team Leads and BASC Leaders in partnership with the BASC Manager.

Promote the learning, development, safety, and well-being of school-aged children by ensuring consistent, high-quality programming, care, and supervision across all BASC locations.
Responsibilities:

Coordinate the purchasing, organization, and distribution of program supplies to ensure all school sites are adequately equipped each month.

Prepare and distribute enrollment information, staff identification materials, and other required program resources to school sites.

Communicate program goals, activity ideas, and best practices to support staff in delivering high-quality programming and care.

Maintain a regular presence in school programs by working at least one shift per month at each site and providing coverage during staffing shortages or other critical situations to ensure required child-to-staff ratios are maintained.

Conduct routine site visits to monitor program quality, build relationships with staff, families, and school administrators, and provide ongoing support.

Provide coaching and guidance to staff on behaviour management strategies and effective child supervision practices.

Maintain regular communication with BASC staff and serve as a resource for operational questions, problem-solving, and support during program hours whenever possible.

Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:

Minimum 4 years of experience working with school-aged children in a childcare, recreation, or educational setting.

Strong understanding of healthy child development and age-appropriate programming.

Ability to learn, apply, and communicate YMCA policies, procedures, and expectations effectively.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.
-
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and make sound decisions.

Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation for travel between program locations.

Proficiency with computers, mobile technology, email, and messaging applications.

Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last 6 months.

Early Childhood Education Level 1, Educational Assistant Certificate, or related education is considered an asset.

Mondays to Fridays; must be available to work some shifts from 7:00 am to 10:00 am or 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Starting Rate: $18.50/hour
