ICE Islamia is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Homeroom Teacher for Grades 9–12. The ideal candidate will have strong subject expertise in English and Social Sciences, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student success in a faith-based learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach and deliver engaging lessons in English and Social Science courses aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare lesson plans, assessments, report cards, and instructional materials.
- Utilize educational technology and Microsoft Office tools to support learning.
- Support students academically and socially while promoting critical thinking and strong communication skills.
- Maintain classroom management and foster respectful student behavior.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school administration to support student achievement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
- OCT certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge and teaching experience in English and Social Sciences at the secondary school level preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology.
- Commitment to academic excellence, character development, and Islamic values.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
