Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our optical team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting patients with selecting and fitting eyewear, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the overall operations of the optical practice. The Optician will collaborate closely with optometrists and other team members to ensure patient satisfaction and optimal eyewear solutions.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame size
- Fit, adjust, and repair eyewear to ensure proper comfort and functionality
- Educate patients on lens options, frame features, and proper care of their eyewear
- Process eyewear orders accurately using optical software such as Optosys or similar systems
- Maintain inventory levels of frames, lenses, and accessories; reorder supplies as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, concerns, and ensuring a positive experience
- Support retail sales efforts by promoting eyewear products and accessories to enhance patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure prescriptions are correctly interpreted and fulfilled
- Uphold all safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Experience
- Student or licensed Optician is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is advantageous
- Background in retail management or sales can be beneficial for advancing within the role
- Previous optical experience or training in eyewear fitting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential for success in this role
