O'Neill Auto Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated working Automotive Shop Foreman/woman to join our Nissan store in Corner Brook. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical knowledge and automotive repair, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires hands-on experience with power tools, the capability to read and interpret schematics, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
As an Automotive Shop Foreman/woman, you will report to the Service Manager and will perform work in all areas including but not limited to:
- Helping Technicians with diagnostics and mechanical repairs
- Conducting road tests and some quality controls
- Handling customers when managers are unavailable
- Perform test drives with customers when required
- Overseeing shop safety and mentoring technicians
- Assisting in Techline stories and diagnostic stories
- Assisting with “fix right first time”
- Helping with overall shop efficiency
- Diagnostic and major mechanical repairs
- Electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Perform inspections on all vehicles and recommend all required items on every car including minimum of one (1) recommendation for every car over 24,000kms and two (2) recommendations for every car over 48,000kms
- Take pictures and videos of all recommendations and have attached to aid in better customer communication to improve the upselling take rate
- Assist in training of Apprentices
- Performing safety inspections, maintenance and repairs
- Attending training classes and departmental meetings
- Operating all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Journeyperson certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to perform individually and with a team
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
- Clear Code of Conduct
- Proficient in heavy lifting techniques and physical endurance for manual labor tasks
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair
