Journeyman Electrician – Oilfield & Industrial (Edmonton, AB)
Crossroads is hiring an experienced Journeyman Electrician to support our growing operations in the Edmonton region. This is a hands-on field leadership role for an electrician with strong upstream oil & gas experience who can execute construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup activities across a variety of oilfield facilities.

What You'll Do
- Complete electrical and instrumentation construction projects including cable tray, cable, conduit, MCC equipment, control panels, and field devices
- Perform maintenance, calibration, repairs, and troubleshooting on oilfield electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Troubleshoot, commission, and provide startup support for electrical and control systems
- Coordinate daily field activities with customers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and on budget
- Lead and mentor electrical and instrumentation apprentices and journeypersons
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems including VFDs, motors, switchgear, heat trace systems, PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, and instrumentation
- Review blueprints, scopes of work, and execution plans
- Assist with field-level estimating and project planning
- Build strong relationships with customers and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability and performance
What You Bring (Must-Have)
- Journeyman Electrician certification
- 5–10 years of upstream, midstream, or industrial oilfield electrical experience
- Experience with oilfield construction, maintenance, commissioning, and startup activities
- Experience working with:
- Gas and refrigeration compressors
- VFD packages
- MCCs
- Separator packages
- Dehydration units
- Line heaters
- Strong troubleshooting experience with:
- Electric motors
- VFDs
- Heat trace systems
- Switchgear
- PLCs and RTUs
- Oilfield instrumentation
- Ability to locate and navigate to oilfield sites using UWI and LSD locations
- Clean driver's abstract
- Strong communication and computer skills
- Willingness to travel
- Must be a Canadian Citizen and currently reside in the Edmonton area or be willing to relocate within three months
Nice to Have
- Electrical estimating experience
- Instrumentation experience or dual-ticket E&I certification
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC, RTU, SCADA, and communication systems
- Strong local network within the trades and oil & gas industry
- CSTS or ESTS
- Fall Arrest and Elevated Work Platform certifications
