Job Type: Full-time (2 month contract + possible extension)
Salary: $28.00–$30.00 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality personal care and support to residents while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility).
- Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being and report changes to the nursing team.
- Support residents during meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices.
- Assist with transfers and repositioning using safe body mechanics and lifting equipment.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful environment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized Health Care Assistant/Registered Care Aide program.
- Registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on employer).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Criminal Record Check clearance.
- Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or community care is considered an asset.
