Overview
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Event Service Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth execution of events, providing exceptional guest experiences, and supporting event operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, customer service, and creating memorable events for attendees of all ages. This position offers an engaging environment where teamwork, communication, and attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and understand event timelines (courses, speeches, breaks)
- Attend pre-event briefings and follow assigned service sections
- Set up event spaces according to floor plans (tables, chairs, linens, place settings, buffet stations)
- Ensure event areas are clean, stocked, and ready before guest arrival
- Assist with arranging décor, signage, and service stations
- Prepare and organize equipment, service ware, and supplies prior to events
- Follow event timelines and instructions provided by managers
- Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and event teams to ensure smooth service
- Serve meals and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner
- Support different service styles (buffet, plated service, receptions, coffee breaks)
- Replenish food and beverage stations throughout events to maintain presentation and availability
- Clear tables, glassware, and dishes efficiently during service to maintain flow
- Greet guests and provide friendly, attentive service
- Respond promptly to guest requests, questions, and concerns
- Anticipate guest needs (refills, additional service items, special accommodations)
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times
- Assist with guest check-in or directional support when required
- Help troubleshoot minor issues during events to maintain service standards
- Clear and reset tables between courses or after events
- Break down event spaces, including removing linens, equipment, and décor
- Clean and sanitize work areas, service equipment, and storage spaces
- Assist with proper storage of supplies and inventory after events
- Coordinate synchronized service (e.g., all plates delivered at once for formal dinners)
- Act as a lead server or section captain for larger events
Experience
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Experience in guest services or hospitality environments preferred
- Background in food service or hospitality is beneficial but not required
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role
Pay: $17.80-$20.00 per hour
