The Position: We are looking for a high-energy, engaging early childhood music teacher to lead our Musical Maestros classes beginning in late August/early September 2026. Training will take place in August. This position offers the opportunity to become a key part of a growing program. Additional teaching opportunities may be available for candidates interested in combining this role with private piano/voice instruction. The part-time position has the following approximate schedule:
- Wednesday: 8:45am – 11:30am
- Thursday: 8:45am – 11:30am
- Saturday: 8:45am – 11:30am
You must be available to work Saturdays.
Class times run throughout the morning, with teachers arriving 15 minutes before classes begin and remaining 15 minutes afterward for cleanup and parent communication.
Our Musical Maestros program serves babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers through engaging music and movement experiences. We are looking for someone who loves working with young children, enjoys singing and performing, and can bring enthusiasm and energy to every class.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching parented and unparented early childhood music classes
- Singing and accompanying classes on piano
- Leading music, movement, rhythm, and play-based activities
- Assisting with lesson planning and class organization
- Preparing materials and setting up for classes
- Building positive relationships with children and caregivers
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the program
The ideal candidate:
- Has experience working with babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and young children
- Has a background in piano and voice
- Is comfortable singing while accompanying on piano
- Has a strong singing voice
- Is warm, energetic, organized, and reliable
- Enjoys engaging with both children and parents
- Is creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about early childhood music education

Job Requirements:
The suitable candidate must have at least one of the following:
- A music degree or equivalent experience in the instrument for which you are applying.
- A minimum Grade 8 RCM piano standing with Theory (or professional equivalent).
The candidate must also have:
- Previous teaching experience with a variety of ages.
- Knowledge and application of standard teaching methods.
- A clean Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- A positive attitude and desire for lifelong learning!
